Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy (OT), uses sensory-based approaches to increase a child’s ability to recognize and respond to triggers that may cause issues for the individual. OT addresses sensory regulation, school-based needs, advocacy, social skills, ADLs (self-care), IADLs (Home and child/animal care), and play to embed goals. OT promotes engagement in meaningful, healthy activities to facilitate the development of healthy habits and routines. Our youth in need of OT are provided with a comprehensive evaluation that includes interviews, clinical observations, and standardized assessments. The evaluation includes recommendations for the treatment team to better serve youth at YBGR. OT can be provided weekly in both individual and group-based service delivery models.
